atg UV Technology are pleased to announce the launch of the WF (Wafer) range, the next generation of UV systems that has been developed especially for the aquatics industry. Launching at Piscina & Wellness this October, atg UV Technology will be showcasing the new WF range – the world’s most compact UV system.

The WF range differs from any other UV system on the market, with a unique UV chamber assembly that will offer the most compact UV system available in the aquatics market today. At around a third of the size of comparative UV systems, and with significantly reduced maintenance space, the WF series promises to offer easy to install and retrofit solution, that will fit tightest of plant rooms.

Whist the WF range is designed to be the most compact UV system on the market, its hydraulically optimised reactor design and leading polychromatic lamp technology also make it one of the most efficient and highest performing. As a minimum, the WF range will provide 99.9% reduction of chlorine resistant microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

Featuring 4 models in the range, in single lamp and twin lamp configurations, the WF series is suitable for swimming pool flow rates of 5 m3/hr up to 250 m3/hr. As with atg UV’s ECL and SX ranges, the WF range will include UV Intensity Monitoring, Over Temperature Control, Automatic Cleaning Systems and Enhanced Safety Quick Release Twistlok™ UV Lamps.

Operators will also benefit from the inclusion of atg UV’s premium SPECTRA II control system as standard, which includes a wide range of features such as data stream monitoring, process interlocks and programmable set points. A key feature includes variable power stepping from 100% to 50% power at no extra cost, allowing operators to optimise the operational power of their system to match bather loads and pool opening times.

In addition, SPECTRA II features a reactive boost function that will automatically operate the lamps at maximum power from a combined chlorine alarm signal when teamed with a suitable chlorine controller. This is a feature specifically designed for swimming pool applications to break down problem chloramines as soon as they are detected, significantly improving water quality and eliminating the cause of strong chemical smells, red burning eyes, itchy skin and building corrosion.
